Happy Australia Day!

I've had the tunes cranking the Hottest 100 from the net, Vegemite for breakfast and the Camp boss has got the chefs to cook me up a storm for lunch! Being stuck off the coast of Africa cannot stop the Aussie spirit...

The New Year Resolutions

For 35 years (probably), people have always asked me what my New Years resolutions will be. My response has always been one of disgust - why would I bother making a drunken promise to myself to complete something before the year is finished, I can do that on any given drunken night! This year will be one of the biggest years for the Girl and I, so after much deliberation I have decided to give it a crack. My 10 resolutions. Excuse me if any (or all) of these look a little easy to complete but I dare anyone else to be able to complete the same list before me. In fact I will give a thousand dollars to anyone who can.

1. Get married.
2. Run a half marathon (not a race - just the distance) in under 2 hours.
3. Bucks party in Vegas
4. Climb the Sydney Harbour Bridge
5. Take the girl for dinner at Le Bernardin
6. Ride / skate / run or walk around the island of Manhattan
7. Watch the Knicks play in a finals game at the garden
8. Surpass my previous unbeaten streak in words with friends (21)
9. Get back down to my fighting weight (92kg)
10. Surpass my yearly Blog maximum (35 in 2008)
Bonus resolution: Publish my first novel on Amazon

While at first glance none of these seem too far out of the realm of possibility, I assure you they are still quite a challenge even for a gifted and determined fellow such as myself.

I'll have to keep the girl happy for long enough to walk down the aisle, rely on the Knicks making it past the first round of the play-offs, kick some serious scrabble ass on the iPhone and get a reservation at the #1 ranked restaurant in the world.

Even if I only can manage half of these I will be pretty chuffed but I hope to complete them all. Care to bet against me...?

*Since I have been challenged - for everyone one of these I cannot do, I will give $100 to charity. If you have no faith in me to complete these then tell me your suggested charity...
